VSC conducted their annual field visit to the Lower Kothmale Oya Mini Hydropower plant which has an installed capacity of 4 MW. The project annually generates and transmits 13.1GWh of environmentally friendly electricity under the standard power purchasing agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board. The project utilizes the flow of Kotmale Oya and annually reduces the country’s carbon emission by 8,225 tonnes.
